Brighton is often referred to as the UK’s ‘gay capital’ and Jacob is the new CEO of Brighton’s oldest LGBTQ organisation – Switchboard. Switchboard serve the health and wellbeing needs of LGBTQ communities across Sussex through a number of projects, including their helpline, domestic abuse service, dementia project, and research.

 

Alongside his role at Switchboard Jacob is also Governor at the local hospital trust, and Trustee at Live Through This – an LGBT Cancer Support charity. Jacob has been working in the non-profit sector for over 10 years, and has led local and national work in Australia, Europe and the UK.

 

He is passionate about creating meaningful impact for undeserved communities and often draws on his own experience as someone who identifies as queer and trans.
